Reddish bump and discharge

I've been occasionally getting a red pimple-like bump around the outside or on the lip of my vagina. It's always just one bump and it comes around sporadically. I can't really remember the first time I got it...it was maybe 3 years ago and I always thought it was a pimple or an ingrown hair since I shave that area. I've also been getting a discharge for as long as I can remember which has been getting worse, and its been happening way before I've started noticing the bumps.
I've been tested for every single STD (including a culture and a blood test) and came out negative for everything. My doctor told me that none of the tests came out suspicious in any way and that the discharge is just the way my body works.

But I'm confused about it because the discharge is very bad. It's usually pretty thick and milky and has a horrible odor which changes in scent from being yeasty smelling to fishy smelling, among other scents. I don't know if these two things are connected in any way. I'm only hoping that it's not Vaginal Herpes since i'm not really getting an outbreak, it's just a single bump every few months to a year or so. But the discharge part of it is still confusing me. It's not itchy in any way...just an offensive odor.

I doubt that herpes is what it is, but since you can have herpes without EVER having an outbreak, I would go get tested. Its probably an ingrown hair. The discharge is strange because its usually a good indicator of what is going on. If its a watery discharge it points to herpes, fishy is vaginosis or a bacterial infection, and yeast is as you know a yeast infection.

I'd say try to get tested for herpes (it also rounds out your STI testing) and buy one of those pH kits from the grocery store. Maybe that will help you.
