Redness on penis... what does it sound like?

Hi,
I look online and a lot of descriptions of STD's are all somewhat the same. They don't seem to match what I have but it also hasn't really gone away so I'm worried.

Over a month ago the very top of my penis went kind of red, I didn't think anything much of it since it went away after about 2 weeks fully. Although we use a condom, there was a brief touch between myself and my girlfriend before sex, turns out she was starting her period if that makes any difference.. I had no pain, no pus, it just looked different to it should.

Now, just about a week ago I notice these white patches lower down the head of my penis.The white patches were like skin because when I washed they didn't look so white, turned a little red. They didn't "pop" like a blister or anything though. I've tried to keep the area as clean as I can washing every day. It looks a little better now, there are a few little red areas around where these patches were, you can just about make out where the patches are/were but its not so pronounced as long as I keep it clean. but it hasn't gone away fully. There is still no pain from the area, not even to touch, it doesn't hurt to urinate, there is no pus, nothing else that matches the descriptions fully of STD's on lists I've seen, no feelings of flu or colds or anything else at all really, I'm just worried because it doesn't look right and is very slow to heal I feel. What should STD's look like? Could it be yeast?

Should I be worried? Does it sound bad? Is there anything I can put on it to quicker heal?
