I've been on Remeron for about 5 months now. The first two weeks I gained 20 pounds. My appetite has now diminished and I eat less than I did before I was on this medication and I am still not losing weight. I am planning to get off Remeron soon. I was wondering if anyone had trouble losing weight after stopping the use of Remeron.
Also I have noticed I have uncontrollable fits of rage and frustration that I have never had before. Has anyone else experienced this? |

| Yes, I can say that I have experienced extreme irritation and episodes of rage while on remeron (usually around the same time of day, odd, I thought)- I was on it as a sleep aid, up to 30 mg - I stopped taking it just a few days ago, primarily because I did not like the wieght gain/appetite increase I was experiencing. Hopefully the 8 pounds or so I put on in the last few months will come off soon. I'm exercising and watching consumption. I also have an affirmation I say at bed time and if I wake in the night taken from Louise Hay's book - "I lovingly release the day and slip into peaceful sleep, knowing that tomorrow will take care of itself" - so far so good - peace to all! |

I was taking Remeron and gained weight fast! About 15 lbs. I stopped taking it and lost 5 pounds but have hit a wall on losing more. I eat less, exercise but still no luck.
I'm very angry at the doctor who prescriped it as I was not warned of the excessive weight gain and goes with this medication. |

| I gain wieght very quickly on Remeron and like you overtime I gained 12 pounds. I decided this was too much of a side effct for me and I dropped the medication. Just so you know, I also lost ALL of the weight in about an 8 week period. After realizing that Remeron was the only medication that works for me without crazy side effects, I went back on and gained 15 pounds. I am going to attempt to excercise and see if I can get my wieght down a little. We will see! In response to your post, I have found no Remeron = normal weight, but that Remeron = psychiatric health. You may have to determine if the pros over-power the cons! Good luck |
