Hello, my son is suffering from Crohns disease. This illness attacks periodically with diarrhea and dehydration. So far, he did not have any severe complications that might happen with this disease. He takes his medicament regularly. I know this condition cannot be cured, but symptoms and progression could be subdued. What is the response to infliximab after maintenance or episodic treatment in Crohns disease?

Infliximab is the drug that inhibits tumor necrosis factor and in this way decreases the inflammation. Beside this main function, it also has immune suppressive effect that should be working in your sons case, since it is an auto immune disease. But, the response to this drug differs from patient to patient and I think that consultation with his doctor is highly required.
