I am a 42 yr old male. I had an operation for a Varicocele in Oct 04 to eliminate painful testicular pain. For 6 months I was pain free. Approx 6 months after, the pain returned & I was found to have a small hernia. That was fixed in Oct of 05 & the pain was gone. Now its Mar 07 & the pain has returned with a vengance. My Drs. tell me it is probably nerve damage around the area & I am feeling referred pain. I have seen a pain specialist & he recommended an inguinal nerve block. This sounds all well and good, but do these actually work? With my luck it will either get worse or numb all of my places down there. I'm at my wits end & not sure if anything can help me.
