Hi. My stomach really hurts, on the lower right side, for two days now. I have lost my appetite and last night I had a fever. I think I have an inflammation of appendicitis and I guess I will have to run through some tests. I would like to hear from somebody with experience about these tests. Are they painful?
Hi. Tests are not that painful. You are already in pain so it means nothing to you. Doctor will simply put his hand on your stomach. The pain will increase when stomach is pressed. Sometimes, a rectal examination is needed to identify abdominal pain on the right side of your body. Your symptoms, physical exam and lab tests are the base of the diagnosis. Sometimes, additional tests are necessary, such as abdominal ultrasound, CT scan and diagnostic laparoscopy.
