Risk of Fludarabine causing a decrease of blood cells in bone marrow?

Hello! My really good friend has chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Her doctor prescribed to her Fludarabine. I am concerned because I have heard that Fludarabine causing decrease of blood cells in bone marrow. I want to know if it is just a rumor or true. I am thanking you in advance!

Hello! As you know Fludarabine is chemotherapy drug. It is true that it causes decrease of blood cells in bone marrow and that it is just common side effect. Your friend will feel sick, tiredness and breathlessness. Also, she will get bruises more easily. She should not be pregnant in this time, because this drug will affect on baby; and she should talk about contraception with her doctor.
