My mother is often depressed. Her doctor has confirmed this as valid diagnose. I have deep need to help her in any or every possible way. That is why I was consulting with some friends of mine. But I was confused. Some of them suggested me Zoloft and the others Risperidal. Why is that? Which one is good for my mother?

I was surprised when I read your question. Your mother has doctors diagnose and you are asking your friends about the medications. Why doctor didn't give her medications? Why you should not ask the doctor for the therapy? Beside, Zoloft can be used for depression. This drug is used in children also. Risperidal was approved as schizophrenia treatment, but withdrawn because of bad side effects, such as stroke.
