Hi. I am a guy who is 18 years old and I had a nerve removed from my tooth. They call it a root canal infection. Sound serious? Maybe you could tell me how serious this condition is and why it happens. Why did they remove a nerve from my tooth? Is there something I could do to not let this thing happen again?

After a period of time, your tooth dies, and get infected, and since the nerve is dead, he cant send blood with protective immune cells to kill the infection. Therefore, the nerve is removed and the canals are cleaned. If this isn't done, the infection spread to the surrounding bone and can lead to dental abscess. So it could have became serious. The best thing you could do to save your teeth is to keep a good dental hygiene.
