SCARED ...14 weeks pregnant, and have abdominal pain

i have mild abdominal pain.....on the left side,. about 5-6 inches below my belly button. it's on and off....some days it won't hurt at all, sometimes it will hurt for about 3 seconds, then go away. it is not sever pain, not even close to menstrual cramps, but i am soo worried about it, it is driving me crazy....especially the fact that, thanks to my doctor, i missed my first ultrasound Sad

does anyone know if i should be worrying about this, or maybe what's causing it?
I'm so scared for my baby.

Hi, I'm also 14 weeks, and have had abdominal pain and period-like pains since week 5! As I write this I have a slight nagging pain on my right-hand side. I've spoken to various doctors, and the consultant about it, and the general consensus is if I'm not having any bleeding not to worry about it. All your innards are being squished, and moved about, so no wonder it's a bit sore now and again. In fact, your pain sounds very mild! I also find I get pains when I'm constipated, or just haven't gone for a day or two - again, i suppose the bowel is being squashed or rearranged in some way, so not surprising. So I think it's probably nothing to worry about unless you notice bleeding. As my doctor said, "Women complain about all sorts of aches and pains in that area in the first few months", and the consultant pointed out to me that 14 weeks is now the time when the risk of miscarriage is greatly reduced, so he wasn't unduly worried.
