Hello Everyone,
Well I see that alot of people have the same problem that I have. My stomach has always growled before and I really never cared until this past school year. I'm 17 years old by the way, It was towards the end of the year with like just 3 weeks left of school and I'm in math class preparing for a quiz and I can fell like my stomach was going to growl, no big deal, so I tried to do something loud to cover it up until it passed, but this one was a monster it just roared and the guy in front of me kinda look bad and the guy behind which was a friend just tap me on the shoulder and sayed "hey man was that your stomach" and I sayed yeah with a laugh and he said "man you need to start eating something in the mornings" so I just turned around and started to freak out and ask to go to the nurse and didn't return. It happen on a tuesday the funny thing was wed, thur and Fri I was fine no problem, but when monday came we had a test. Nothing much at first but soon as the test began it started. Once again I had to leave the class and didn't return I told my teacher I just had a stomach virus and he understood. I did a little research and found out a few things the might help. during the last 17 days of school I started taking GAS X, ACID CONTROLLER, and MOTION SICKNESS pills (that only on test days, it did make me feel sleepy but it relaxed me) after taking taking each morning after I went to bathroom If you know what I mean and I had a peace of toast and yall I didn't have one stomach growl. I had ISS (In school suspension) and where I had to sit in a class full of people for 7 hours, no leaving, and no talking, but i took my meds and no problem what so ever. Ever though it never growled i still felt nervous to go to class and It was only math class my other classes, Forestry, Spanish 2 and Chemistry never had a problem I had nothing but friends in those classes and really never bother me. In my math class its just different just a horrible felling in that class, with 17 days left of his class i only missed 3 before that terrible day since then I missed 6 full classes and I left eary about 4 times so I do think its mental. Its summer time now and I guess you can say I'm a little worried about school, but not much. Well i'm entering my senior year and I only have four classes and I made sure I took one easy class with not many people in like music app. so I can relax a little bit and hoping my math class is in the morning so i can get it over with early. Since i'm a senior i only got 90 days on school so I graduate in december and that its i'm done not that much worrys because theres things I can do about college and I can always find an outside job no big deal. I just hope I don't have to go threw again sittng In a class trying to make noise to cover up the noise, I don't like to think about it, but It is kinda ruining my life. I can tell you about a few good things about school in the fall is, football season something to concentrate on, pep rallies get out of 4th earlier, play sick, skip, when it gest fall and winter time that means the heater will cut on and yall we have some loud heaters and other senior things that might require us to leave class. Another cool thing is, there might only be 4 days of school now because the way gas prices are, that would be great....to wrap up my book, here are my tips and trust me after I started doing this It never growled even when I thought about it.
1. try not to think about it, I know its hard, but you need to try. Draw, think about your weekend, what are you going to when you get home or listen to what the teacher is saying and focus on the material he/she is teaching.
2. get up about an hour earlier than normal and try to go to the bathroom, trust me on this one your stomach will growl when you have to do the do.
3. wake up with a smile, just say "Today Will Be A Good Day"
4. taking Gas X, Acid Controller and eat somthing really small, I recommend bread-bread has fiber and easy to disgest.
5. Finally if it does happen in a quiet situation just say "wow so my stomach growled Big Whoop!!!!"
After following this steps it should decrease or maybe elminate the problem, because when you think about it stomach growling is caused by
1. Mental Anxiety
2. hunger
3. Food Digesting
4. Number 2
5. Gas
6. Stomach Acid
Taking Gas X elminates gas, Acid Controller elminates stomach Acid, taking a crap relieves uncomfort, eating a peace of bread stops your stomach growling of hunger and bread digests easier so not much growling there and finally concentrating on other things relieves that anxiety attacks. Hope This Helps
Good Luck |

i first realized this problem in 7th grade..when i could sit still because my stomach was growling so loud. i scored terribly on the test obviously and of course on every other test after that. it is honestly one of the biggest fears of my life and it stops me from doing so many things on my own. during highschool i would skip class alot of the time because i knew we had a test or were goin to do a quiet activity. one of the wost days of my life was taking my SAT ..5 hours of quietness ..it was sooooooooooo terrible!!
i talk to my friends about it and of course they just laugh it off and tell me to get over it, because they dont get it. ill be starting college this fall and im terrified..because i know im going to be in many QUIET rooms with people that i dont know alot of the time.. besides that im not goin to be able to focus on anything that im doing because im goin to be to busy freaking out about my stomach..
i know there no cure and i take all the percautions but i do believe its all mental..i sit in class and im totally fine..until that one thought pops into my head about my stomach and then thats alll i think about and then it begins and then my heart starts racing and i start to shake and i start to move around alot (trying to cover up the noise) and people start looking at me thinking im going crazy...
anyways i thought i was the only person that felt this way or had these types of problems..and its very comforting to see that im not goin insane

Wow, I thought I was just a freak with an odd problem. I'm glad I googled this and found out I'm not alone. I have alot of trouble at church and church camp. It seems to me I have the most trouble when I walk in church thinking about it(cause I never can get it off my mind) cause when I leave and I'm alone in my truck it's like "who cares", then it doesn't happen. I think it may be a fear related thing, but I don't really think it's anxiety or stress cuz I really don't think I have much stress in my life. But then again when I'm at work sometimes I can get agrivated. All I know is I can't seem to find a way to stop it. However, it does seem to me like if you can turn a little and not sit flat on your butt it seems to happen a little less.

The Cure:
1) Try 1 serving of prunes and 2 bowls of Cheerios before bedtime which will help clean the colon and assure regularity. Then upon waking drink 2 cups of water to keep stomach lubricated. Drink cold water through out day to keep hydrated. (Personally, I feel warm water tends to promote gas)
2) Follow an exercise program (to lower stress level), high protein low carb diet (avoiding excess sugar), and remember that 8 hours rest is essential for keeping physical and mental balance.
3) Avoid foods that absolutely positively does not agree with your stomach and causes gas (i.e., spices, beans, whole grains, lactose etc.)
Lastly, looking good and feeling good will help keep your confidence level up for the day. Keep your day planner filled with activities and goals that will help keep you in a positive frame of mind. Whatever it may be (music, reading, shopping etc.) do something each day that will provide that special excitement that only you know.
Hey, DO NOT STRESS OUT...
Remember what ever stresses you owns you! -Quiet Storm |

This is a problem that I had suffered for two years, since Year 7. After that I told my mum that my noises were out of control and that I wanted to go to the doctors. My GP sent me to numerous specialists and I had basically every test in the book. I had everything from X-Rays to Ultrasounds to blood tests to gastroscapies where they stick a camera in your stomach. My parents wound up spending thousands of dollars on medical tests to get to the bottom of the noises. You know what the doctors found?......... NOTHING...... So therefore the problem had to be psycalogical. So I was told that the only cure was to get over it.
It was hard at first as I was in denial as to nothing being wrong with me. I thought that there must have been something causing the noises. Then months later, I came to terms with my self enduced stomach noises and grew out of them. Since then I have had no noises. Only the EXTREMELY occasional one every few months when I am alone.
So there. I no longer have the noises. It was all in my mind. And THERE IS NO MEDICAL PRODUCT THAT CAN CURE THESE NOISES REALLY. It is up to you. It worked for me.
Good luck. |

| I first got these noises too in class. It was so embarrassing. It ruined my life for a couple of months. It got so bad I had to withdraw from class. I was so paranoid that it would happen again. I went to the doctor but there was nothing wrong they could find. I felt like I had to be isolated. I found out that I was lactose intolerant and greasy food made it act up more. I've had to deal with this on my own. But I have been losing weight ever since I first went to go see the doctor and they have been going away. I still get them. But I think exercising works and watching what you eat helps. But I hate this and wish it would go away. |

wow i am not the only one having this problem.. i am not alone...
During my freshman year in college, i was extremely stressed out and the stomach noises came. I think mainly because everyday I had classes at different times and the body wasn't used to the changes. I became paranoid and felt like this problem was taking over my education. I wasn't able to focus in a quiet class, and just sweat when I knew it was going to happen. I didnt study in the library because I was afraid that I would just embarrass myself.
I gave up soda and milk during school. I drank only water and it seems it has helped. Occasionally, the noises come when i am in a quiet class because of anxiety. I eat meals before class and snacks during if I get hungry.
I always think that its a part of being human and it happens to everyone. . |

| I've been suffering from anxiety for two years now. It all began with stress from moving to a new city and state and beginning school (college) for the first time in a long time. My first sit down class in my first semester was where it all began the stress of being in that new environment with a bunch of strangers soon turned into anxiety and sitting through that class was one of the hardest things I had to do. Still, I felt I was in control of the situation as long as I didn't eat much before class. I too ate just a piece of bread before class. I made it through that class but as time went on my anxiety only grew worse in sit down classes and then came my stomach problems. I have dropped so many sit down classes because of my stomach growling in these quiet environments and I also avoid any place that might be a quiet environment. It's affecting my life in more ways than one. I was at a family member's funeral and I almost had to walk out during the goodbye speeches. I barely attend school now, I have quit so many jobs in the past few years because of the quiet situations such as meetings, sit down training classes, and so on that go with these jobs. I also have started to avoid social situations where my stomach might act up. I'm miserable most days because of this. I know that a lot of it is mental because when I'm with REAL close friends in some quiet environments I'm able to be okay because I know that if my stomach starts acting up they won't judge me and I know we'll hang out again. In classroom settings I know people will judge and I will just not go back to class and drop the class and no one wants to continuly keep failing over and over again. It's not good...I know I need help but it's hard when you're broke because you can't keep a job long enough to get insurance because of your anxiety and stomach problems. And not having insurance means no doctor's visits for help. It's SO frustrating and depressing. I'm the type of person that wants to live life to the fullest and this problem has held me back too long and I'm praying it won't be like this forever. Even though I can't go see a doctor to help me, I'm still looking for ways that I can better myself so I can hold a job long enough to get insurance, to go get help. I got some ideas from here, so thank you for sharing. I hope this is something that I will one day be free of. I wish everyone the best. I feel your pain and frustration. At least we're not alone in this. Good luck! |

| I`ve had this problem to for about ten months. This happend to me when I was in class. Out of no where my stomach started making noises. Farting like noises. I was mortified. I`ve never had this problem before. It came out of the blue. I`ve had many tests done but all came back normal. Tried many meds. THe doc finnaly diagnosed me with gastroparesis. Its a stomach condition where your stomach cannot digest food well. I have been taking meds it has helped a little. But I do feel like it is controlling my life. And the thing is that people dont really understand how embarrising it can be. I also get anxiety if I have to be in a queit place. But at least they have subsided allot. But still I hate having this. It has ruined my life a little. I too am going online for school. I hope someday we can all get rid of this. |

Hello,
I too am suffering from these noises.. I have to go to the bathroom at least 3 times a day, still feel like I have go to, stink like I have to go to the bathroom even when I don't have to(would have been nice if things stopped here) but now I have been cursed with these stomach noises. Weird popping noises in my stomach, or like someone is blowing bubbles in your intestines, sometimes, I can feel my rectum I think vibrating and making noises like a dog whining., or someone blowing bubbles through a straw, or popping noises like the noises you get when you make popcorn... and last but not the least noises from your bottom making farting noises (even when your not). I feel bloated on some days constantly need to pass gas(on some days) but even when i feel normal i have this problem! YES IT IS ABSOLUTELY RUINING MY LIFE! And I need a solution. I've been to a doctor and was told it was IBS with no cure That's not the answer I am looking for. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that God will give the solution to this problem! I am 26 and female. The problem started like 11 months ago. Helpp! Can't live like htis anymore!!! |
