Schizotypal Disorder Therapy Optitons

Hi. My brother was diagnosed with schizotypal disorder. I don`t know anything about it. He acts odd, and he doesn`t have friends at all. He is not close to anybody, including me. We are kind of a close, but not the way we should. His social anxiety didn`t diminish with familiarity. Is there anybody who could tell me more about schizotypal disorder and therapy options?

Hi. Schizotypal disorder is a personality disorder. It is characterized with social isolation, odd behavior and thinking, unconventional beliefs (for example, a person with SD could think she or he has extra sensory abilities). SD is best to treat with psychotherapy. There is no simple solution. Sometimes, behavioral approaches are helpful. Group therapies are good in some cases. Meds can be used in treatment of SD.
