My father has some health problems. He has inflammation of bile duct. Doctors told him that this condition is called primary sclerosing cholangitis. He had symptoms like loss of appetite, indigestion, itching and jaundice. Can you tell me what the treatment is because my father doesn't take his condition seriously enough?

He should know better. Sclerosing Cholangitis leads to blockage of bile transport to the gut. It can cause liver failure because of accumulation of bile in liver. Jaundice that your father has experienced is first sign of that. Regarding treatment standard procedure include ursodiol, also antipruritics for itching, antibiotics for infection and vitamin supplements because people with this disease often have reduced level of vitamins A, D and K.
