Hi, my very good friend is suffering from depression for several yeas. He was regularly taking medications which his doctor prescribed him, but last weak he had seizure which they called Serotonine syndrome. I would like to know something more about this disorder and what did cause it?Thank you.
Hi, serotonin syndrome is disorder which is consisted of mental, motor and neuromuscular disorders. It is caused by drugs which are increasing level of serotonin in the blood. These medications are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants. In such cases doctors usually change therapy or stop it for some time.
