My father is experiencing tachycardia, overactive or overresponsive reflexes, high blood pressure and high temperature. He is on some medications, but I don't know for what. Yesterday, I took him to a hospital and he was kept there. They said that he might have serotonin syndrome. What is happening to my father?

This syndrome is caused by increased level of serotonin in person's brain. This condition is possible life treat for a person. That is why your father is kept in hospital. Cause of the Serotonin Syndrome can be self-poisoning, therapeutic drug use or interaction between drugs. Best way to cure this thing is to find "medication to blame" and stop further use of it.
