I am also experiencing severe bloating! I'm shocked that we all have the same story. I had am allergy test to rule out food allergies. My doctor recommended for me to take zantac two times per day (never had acid reflux) and said I could be lactose intolerant. So now it's 3 weeks later with absolutely NO dairy products- by the way dairy is in EVERYTHING!!!! I felt better the first few days, but now I'm back to looking like I'm 6 months pregnant. It's so frustrating because I work out 5-6 times per week and I'm in great shape. I have a gyn appt set up in a few weeks to rule out endometriosis and enlarged ovaries- I know that will be a waste of time but I am willing to do anything! HELP ME!!!!!!

In a sad way I feel releif to know I'm not the only one, but I feel even worse knowing noe of us have been given an answer. I've had the extreme bloating for about 7 months now, with no releif. I have been to Dr. and been givcen different medications with no success. I've tried digestive enzymes, colon cleansing, laxatives, EVERYTHING and nothing. I literally look like I am 7 or 8 months pregnant. I have stopped going out because I feel not only horrible, but extremely uncomfortable. And the Dr. seem to think I am exaggerating. There has to be something we can do!!!!

I am sadly releived to know I am not the only suffereing of htis, but it makes me feel even worse knowing that none of us have an answer. I have been experiencing extreme bloating for 7 months with no releif. I no loneger fit into my clothes though I eat healthy. I have been prescribed various medicaitons with no success. i've taken digestive enzymes, colon cleansers, acid medicine, laxatives; but NOTHING works! And the Dr., I feel, treats me as though I am exaggerating, but how can one exagerate if somedays I look like I am 8 months pregnant! There has to be something we can do!

Do you all bloat up like that right afte ryou eat, and maybe have had a bit of nausea or a reduced appetite at times? Go to a GI doctor and ask about gastroparesis, or look it up- most people (and even a lot of primary care doctors) don't know about the condition, but it can cause the symptoms you're talking about. You'll have to have a gastric emptying test done at your hospital.

Have any of you checked into the possibility of celiac disease (gluten intolerance)? It is becoming more and more common in the US, and you have to have a special blood test to find out (Celiac Panel).

PostPosted: 04/23/08 - 20:47    Post subject: how many on the pill with abdominal bloating? Vote now! Reply with quote

I have so many of the same symptoms as the others, but no pain. Just horrible bloated abdomen. It feels hard too. It seems like I'm gaining wait in my lower abdomen and I haven't changed my diet. I have been to the doctor and he told me he thought it was stress related, but I've been much more stressed in my life and this never happened. I look like I'm in the early stages of pregnancy, but I know I'm not pregnant. I'm curious, how many of you are on the pill? I'm on the pill and am thinking that somehow it's causing these effects. I've taken it for a year now without these effects, but I'm desperate for this to go away so I'm going to switch pills. I'm on Yaz at the moment. I feel so bad for what you all are going through. I feel like I'm trapped in someone else's body! Another thing, this happened in about a week and hasn't gone away in a month now.

You all could have Hashimoto disease. You should go to a doctor and get your thyroid levels checked.

Hi Guys,

What you all need is a about a 6month cleanse from the Candida or yeast build up in your systems. Somebody has over their lifetime taken too many tylenol/advil and antibiotics too. Those kill off all the good bacteria in your system and help the bad bacteria multiply like crazy - the bloating is caused by (I'm sorry to be blunt) the poo/excretions of bad bacteria who have to let it go after feasting on the food/sugar/pastries/bread that they are eating in your gut.

Sorry to be blunt! But hope you get the picture - you need to kill them off and be diligent about sticking to a 6 month cleanse. Go to www.stopyeast.com and put yourselves on either THREELAC or FIVELAC.

By the way - this stuff brought me back from the brink of insanity - I went to get a pregnancy test and it was also negative. Nope - it's the multiplying bad bugger yeast in my stomach that had taken over!

I hope this helps somebody out there. I was six years suffering with this. And my brother also had it so bad that his intestine purferated and he came down with Crohn's disease - a lifelong condition that cannot be cured.

Cheers
Julie

My god, I have all of the same symptoms as you guys, and I'm freaking out. I look and feel exactly as if I'm pregnant, even though that isn't possible in my case. Stool and urine appear normal. My last period was irregular, however.. it was short, light, and nearly two weeks early. Some back pain, but I think that's due to the lifting I do at work.. maybe related? Although it sometimes hurts to have a bowel movement, I don't experience a lot of pain, just extreme discomfort and bloating, and yes, my clothes are becoming ill fitting too. I used to be able to stay up until 3AM, but now I fall into a deep sleep before 11:30PM each night, and it's only that late because I get off work at 11. I generally eat well and exercise -- I've always been in pretty good shape, so this is very frustrating for me. Lately I barely eat AT ALL because of the discomfort I feel after eating, but even when I don't eat or drink, I'm still very bloated. This has been happening for the last month or so, and I finally made a doctor's appointment today, I just thought I'd do a little online research before I went so I wasn't completely in the dark. I'm glad we have a couple of answers now, at least.
