Hello!
I am 29, female. I am planning an surgery of hip replacement in June. I talked with my doctor, however there is one question I am ashamed to ask him… What about sex after the hip replacement?

Many women express concern about a dislocation or damage to the new hip joint after total hip surgery while having intercourse. But in period of 12 weeks a new capsule grows around the new hip joint and the force returns to the muscles, so after this period the risk for dislocation is low. Before 12 weeks there is a risk of dislocation, so by my opinion in that period sex is not recommendable. But, if woman is lying on back with knees apart (usual position for intercourse), the risk of having hip dislocated is lower.
