Sex after laprascopic hysterectomy

Why did my doctor tell me to wait for 2 weeks to have vaginal sex after a laprascopic hysterectomy. They did everything through three holes in my abdomen and I have no vaginal bleeding. I don't understand if they didn't do the hysterectomy vaginally, why no sex?

I just had a hysterectomy by laparoscrope, three and a half weeks ago. When I went for my 2 week post-op, he said no way to sex, because there is an insision in your vagina where they pulled your uterus out. He wants me to wait 6 weeks, but I'm feeling so good I may have to give him a call.

Can anyone give me information on whether these doctors have to be certified or just experienced in Advanced Laperoscopy. My doctor is telling me he is nt sure he can do and LSD unless he see's what's going on first....he may have to resort to the traditional hysterectomy which I don't want.

any suggestions?
