Sharp Stomach pain and bleeding after bowl movement.

Hello,
My boyfriend has had bleeding after going to the bathroom for a while. It happens every 2 or 3 months once or twice and then stops. He gets sharps pains in his stomach and then when when he goes to the bathroom he has brigth red bleeding. Is this Serious?

since there is bleeding, see a doctor asap
