Sharp stomach pain after drinking alchohol

I am 18 years old and havent used alchol much in my lifetime. But the times I did I drank high proof drinks such as vodka. Sometimes I dont get them but usually after drinking I get this horrible sharp pain in my stomach. It feels like a stomach cramp but much more specific pain area. Does anyone know why this happends? Can I do something to prevent this from happening?
