I was diagnosed with shingles because of the severe pain on my nose but the rash/lesions never surfaced. I was seen by an ophthalmologist to have my eyes checked for any lesions and he didn't seem to think I had shingles. The pain continues, not as intense as at first but has not gone away completely, a lot of discomfort. Can one have Shingles without the rash/lesions? I feel fortunate that I did not get them but the pain I describe to my doctor indicates shingles. Or can I still be susceptible to the breakout?
