Hi. I`m 18 yo and my brother is only 10. He has a short term rote memory. All I know is that his memory is poor and he learns pretty hard to remember anything. He can`t remember even the alphabet. Some say he`s slow. Anyway, I would like to know what is a short term rote memory? Nobody tells me anything.

Hi. Short term memory means that your brother can hold some seven items of information. He must transfer his short term memory to long term memory, in order to retain information. Rote memory is an ability to learn by creating a habit pattern. So, rote memory means that your brother is repeating something, all the time. There are some ways to turn his memory on long term, through repetition and by understanding the link between ideas and information.
