Hi, folks. I am 12 years old and I have been recently diagnosed Tourette syndrome. I have both vocal and motor tics and children seem to avoid me. I would like to know whether I should be concerned about this disease. Can I expect some serious damages on my health? I would really appreciate all sincere answers.

Hello to you too. Tourette syndrome can be unpleasant, especially for kids of your age. Other kids simply don’t understand you. However, you shouldn’t worry too much. Usually after the age of 14, tics decrease. In some cases they even go away. Tourette is not a progressive disease. Therefore, don’t expect this disease to have an impact on your physical health. Just visit doctor regularly and follow his advices. Please, let me know what happens further. Bye!
