Should adults get meningitis vaccine? I am 30 years old and I am vaccinated for meningitis. I am asking because I went to travel agency yesterday, I am planning trip to Thailand and the girl advised me to get meningitis vaccine. Is it necessary?

Get the meningitis vaccine if you travel to areas of the world that have a high incidence of meningitis. I am not sure about Thailand but I guess that she knows what she is talking. Only one dose of the vaccine is needed, which you can get anytime and it doesn’t matter if you adult. The meningitis vaccine is recommended for adults at high risk of infection. Most healthy adults do not require this vaccine on a routine basis.
