I have had similar symptoms for 3.5 weeks now. occasional left arm and fingers tingling and steady left face numbness. Saw a neuro and they are doing an MRI on suspicion of MS... scared as hell.

30 yr old male, good health otherwise

I'm 29, and in fairly decent health (I think). I've been worrying about everything else this could be, so somehow skipped over MS, until now! I need an MRI. It's really too bad my health care provider denied my renewal back in March. Sad

I am having face numbness and also left arm and leg. I thought mine was a sciatic nerve problem as it started in my leg. I went to the er today and they took all kinds of tests including a ct scan. Everything came back ok. They just sent me home with pain meds, etc. I think I might need to get more tests done.
I didn't think about Ms either. The doctor today also mentioned lack of vitamins and thyroid problems.
Just found this site.
Haven't had many health problems either.....

I am worried, and probably going to lose my job because of this. I am a single mother and I am also going through the same symptoms. The only difference is I have had this for almost five years now off and on and no one can give me an answer. I have been through at least 10 doctors plus all the specialists they send me to. I have Fibro, I have a thyroid condition, I have borderline diabetes. I have been tested for every possible condition that is known. I have been keeping a journal for the past few months now and I have noticed I can tell when my Fibro kicks in and if my thyroid if off, and when my sugar has gone to high. But I still can not get a handle on this! I have been working in my house plus my regular job and then one morning I wake up with discomfort in my shoulder, neck, and chest, and then the numbness and tingling starts. The dizziness is horrible. I can not go to work, because I can not drive. This is an absolute horrible feeling. With my Fibro, I can have all of these symptoms. Now I have gone through all types of tests and including testing for MS about five years ago, but I did not get a spinal tap. Do not get a spinal tap until all other tests are done for MS. But I am gone to ask my doctor again to test me for MS. The reason being, when I read up on MS you can have small occurrences for years before if becomes noticeable to doctors. Good Luck to you all, I hope you can find a doctor out the there and if you do let me know please! Sad Question

Hey, This might help you all out. I have the same symptoms too, face numbness and slight numbness in my limbs etc. accompanied by a feeling of paranoia or anxiousness. It all started happening after I had something called a "Panic attack". One day after drinking a HUGE thing of energy drinks, (I was taking ritalin at the time, which is a stimulant, i dont take it anymore) and after eating some chinese food with family, all of a sudden my heart beat really fast, i began to feel worried and like I was going crazy or losing my mind. Then everything became "spacey" in a sense, and I got real dizzy. It lasted for awhile, and after I calmed down the tingling and numbness was still present for a lil while. I read up and found out that it was Panic Attack. What happens is when you start having one, you began to start thinking the worst, and in turn, you scare yourself more, and then you heart beats faster, then your "flight or fight" response kicks in, releasing large amounts of adrenaline throughout your body, making you feel numb and tingly throughout your body. That may be what you all are experiencing, perhaps a slight rush in adrenaline that your body is not used to. After reading about it, I just relaxed and if I felt like I was getting nervous or paranoid I would just think nice thoughts, and I KNOW theres nothing wrong with me for sure. I know that all some of you have been seeing doctors and are worried and set on finding out what it is, this creates a lot of stress and fear in your lives, which may in turn cause your adrenal gland to run at a steady frequency throughout the day, which may explain why you are numb throughout the day. I am getting better after realizing all of this, but sometimes I feel numb still, and you just have to tell yourself that its just the adrenaline, and that you will be fine.
Hope this may have helped some people Very Happy

Sounds a lot like MS.
I have MS and all of your symptoms say MS.
Most DR'S dismiss MS and it took me 6 months to find a DR who did a spinal and confirmed MS.
There are many treatments available for MS so dont wait to long to be checked out.

I also suffer from numbness in my face, around my eyes, tongue, throat, and left arm. It is always present in my face. Sometimes my left shoulder blade goes numb. I have been tested for everything you can think of by blood test, and it always comes back normal. I also had an MRI which is also normal. I am a woman of strong faith and am not paranoid or suffering from panic attacks. My ips began to go numb occasionaly 6 months ago. After about two months of that it was permanently andstarted moving to my gums side of face ect. I am going to see a chiropractor and then if that doesn't work. I will find a better neurologist and will get a spinal tap. Modern medicine has come to far to not be able to figure this out. Also I quit using any and all artificial sweetners, due to research I found about ms and aspartame.Hang in there we will all be diagnosed soon. Try a high protein diet and regular exercise. I like to exercise but found that I don't have the muscle strength that I did less than a year ago. So please don't overdo it but do take better care of yourselves. Smile

I have also had much of the same issues. For almost 2 years I have been dealing with this. I get numbness in my left arm and hand (usually my pinky and ringfinger seem to be colder than the rest of my hand) and slight tingling as well. Also, slight numbness in my lips and around my left ear. On occasion, I also feel a little bit of pain in the upper part of the left side of my head. I have wondered if I have nerve damage in the neck or left shoulder that is causing this, but as of yet, MRI, and CT have shown nothing. I had a spill on a scooter about 2 years before this began, and I think landing on that side may be partly to blame. I screwed up my left shoulder pretty bad. But these symptoms didn't start till 2 years later. The first couple times it happened, I went to the emergency room, and they said, nothing was wrong, and then said it was anxiety attack, but it happens when I least expect it, and when I am not hyper or any cause for anxiety. From what I can tell with what is happening, it seems a lot like some sort of nerve problem, even if unrelated to the wreck. Perhaps one of the disorders, or degeneration of spine, mentioned here by others. My father suffers from degeneration of the spine, so maybe it could be something genetic? Also, sometimes my chest has slight to moderate pain on left side, which can last for days or weeks, or merely an hour. None of the protein markers for a heart attack have been found in my blood however. If anyone has any answers, please share! Smile
Thanks, and Be Good.

My husband is having the same symptoms and I took him to the ER last night. He is a smoker and they thought is was a blood clot in the lung, but the CT did not show one, even though he did not pass the clot test. We are going to check other places to see if there is a blood clot somewhere else. We have had a Nuclear stress test, Heart-cath and etc. done on his heart and it is not heart related. He has also had an Upper GI done and found some erosion in his esophogus and stomach and it could be flairing up again, but who knows. He is a 30 year old man with no other health problems. I myself have fibromyalgia and do not have similar pain. We are just going to keep checking and see if we can find a cause for the mysterious pain. I hope everyone else finds out and can ease the pain.

One possibility no one has mentioned is Lyme Disease. I got LD while on vacation in the 1980's, and experienced numbness and a number of other nerve symptoms in the following years. Because I live in an area where Lyme is not known to occur, not one of the local doctors thought to check. When I finally asked for the Lyme tests, they came back heavily positive. I had never had a rash or the early flu-like symptoms.
