Hello, I had a 3rd degree Shoulder Separation several years ago. It was due to bicycle accident I had. They repaired the ligament damage, but shoulder has never been the same since. When I lift my arm above my head it pops and creates discomfort. I can do everything I always did, so it didn't affect me long term, But my shoulder now hangs about 1" lower than my left shoulder, so it looks messed up.
I also had grade 3 full shoulder separation back in 99’. It was from snowboarding. My surgeon said not to fix it. I was shoveling snow the next day with some pain and dropping cliffs within 2 weeks with great pain, but the worst of it was where the ligaments shrank down. Now 7 years later no problems unless I throw snow balls for hours, I wouldn't get it fixed unless you had to.
