I feel like I should be in a neck brace. My left shoulder and the base of my neck are in so much pain I can't even turn my head. Any little movement of my head and I'm hurting. At first I thought I slept on it wrong. Then I thought it was my pillow. Then I thought it was my bed. I changed all those things and I'm still in pain. It makes life hard when I work full time and I'm a full time mom as well of an 11 month old. I've been living on extra strength tylenols for the last week just to numb the pain, (taking 3 at a time) but it never really goes away. Sad

hi, if you are unable to relate the pain to a specific moment - such as tripping up or being in an accident, and the pain has become increasingly worse then the cause is more than likely to be muscular. One of the worst things you can do is limit movement of the affected area. The best course of treatment would be to alternate hot and cold compresses, if you are able then take the recommended dose of anti-inflammatory medication and some painkillers. Although difficult when you have children try to massage the area, combined with the meds all of this will increase blood flow, release any tension in the muscles, reduce inflammation and in the meantime reduce the pain. do try to keep moving to the best of your ability, some very slow and gentle stretches and movements will help but not damage, think yoga style rather than aerobics! DO NOT force the arm or shoulder at all. If you still continue to have problems then consider seeing your doctor or physio... hope this helps
