I have trouble understanding something. You see my soon has problems with pain in the stomach. After a few days of discomfort occurring I took him to the doctor. He was scheduled for ultrasound yesterday. After the exam he was told that he has shrunken gallbladder. What does it mean? What is happening?

First thing you should know is that gallbladder is shrunken after the meal. It is sack-like organ under the liver which is used for bile storage. When you eat the gallbladder contract releasing the bile into the bowel. In that moment the gallbladder is shrunken. Also gallbladder can be shrunken by some diseases like inflammation and scarring of the gall bladder wall, gall stones or after the cholecystitis.
