Have a 4yr old taking Albuteral breathing treatments every 4 hours and Pulmolcort twice daily. Are there any know side affects of this treatment? I have noticed she is very hard to get along with and refuses to nap. Also, since taking these treatments, she has a very hard time keeping her eye from crossing while watching TV. Especially watching TV while taking a breathing treatment. Is this common? Should I be worried?

Pulmicort’s side effects are nothing alike and include mild cough and wheezing but should be reduced with albuterol usage. Albuterol can, on the other hand, cause restlessness, anxiety, nervousness, trembling, and even dizziness. However, all of these side effects should go away when the body gets used to the medicine.

I would advice to talk to the doctor who prescribed the treatment and tell him all the symptoms your daughter is having. Maybe, he can modify the treatment, so that your daughter wouldn’t have to go through all of this.
