I am a 35 year old and I have had my l4 to l5 to l5 to s1 fused, this created more cronic pain for me. I've had the epaderal shots, nerves numbed in the C level area. I already have a Dorsal Coloum Stimulator impant, for the pain that goes down both my legs. I am disable, d-disk disorder(shrinking of disk), bulging disk, nerve damage in legs. (etc) I am taking Oxycotin 40mg 3x's daily and up to 4x's, 6 days a month. My docter can not increase pain meds. I have been debating this for about a year and ahalf. I need relief fast, My docter can do surgery A.S.A.P
I need to know long turm side effects and side effects that may occur during and after surgery. PLEASE HELP!! To young too live in this much pain and have 2 children to take care of. Should I procede with this?

this coming monday jan 7, i am having surgury for the implant of a cathetor for morphene drip to spine. they are talking 2mg max trial for 8wks, if not affective will abort permenant installation of battery opperated drip to spine and possibly return to methadone as before. what is the general consenses for this sort of treatment for low back pain after 5years of various meds, oxycontin, loratab, percacet, etc. i am still relatively active and outdoorsman. hoping to regain a life. without meds i am unable to walk. the methadone was good but my doctor says this implant will make me feel twice as good. Could this be true, will i be able to do more and what are the side affects and how would you compare this to taking 60mg of methadone daily......i do not want to be dragged down, limp, less active, tired, droopy, sleepy, catatonic........thanks
