How long does it usually take to determine success of a skin graft? What can be involved in rejection of graft? How long does it take for wound to heal? A friend of mine has to have skin graft today because of burn on his leg. Please post.

Within 72 hours success of skin graft can be determined. Infection of patient or donor causes rejection of skin graft, although antibiotics may be prescribed to avoid that. Then, it takes from 6 week to several months for treated area to heal completely. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Hope that helped.
