Wife had hystertomy and ever since we resume sex I've had rashes or cracking on my penis. One doctor said it was contact dermatitis cause by something she was using on pubic area. Tried to eliminate all & even changed soap but none helped. Skin clears 3-4 days and happens again each time we have sex. Anyone know what's causing it?

I am 15 and it not because of your guys wife/girlfriend. It happens to me too somtimes after masturbating (except for the red bumps). Its because of low levels of Omega 3,6,and 9 fatty acids. Try taking omega 3,6,9 suplaments in one capsole or if you cant find them all togeather just get Omega 3. Try that for a couple weeks. It helped me.

I had this problem for over 20 years. Doctors were unable to help me aside from giving me topical creams. Anytime after an erection my skin would crack in 2 or three spots on the shaft of the penis just below the head of the penis. Very frustrating. I started suing hypo allergenic laundry soap. Do not use any of the popular brands. Even the one that advertise themselves as gentle or mild are ineffective. Use the best soap u can afford. There are several brands out there. You might have to try a few. I wash anything that touch my penis in this detergent, except my wife Cool, underwear, pyjama bottoms, swim trunks, etc. This worked for me, hope it works for you. Good luck.

This forum has been very helpful for me, as well, and thanks to those who have chimed in. This is a very, very frustrating problem. My problem is similar to the 7/14/08 post by Guest - under the head of my penis I get cracking skin after a "workout" of any type, or even after just a night erection, and that cracking leads to prolonged trouble. I have been given steroid cremes by my doctor and they help it heal temporarily and rather quickly, but I hate the effects of the steroids so I have given up on that. It takes longer to heal without the steroid cream, probably due to the location of the problem - between head and foreskin, where the folds keep it moist. All I can say is, I am tired of it and wish there were a solution.
