PostPosted: 02/13/07 - 09:25    Post subject: Skipped Period and Not Pregnant - Could This be Early Menopa Vote now! Reply with quote

I'm on Aviane birth control and have been for just over a full year. Last week was my period week for the month. However, I didn't bleed at all, I totally skipped my period! I went to the doctor to get bloodwork done and I am not pregnant. I have to go through a referrel system to see a GYN (hopefully I'll see one next week).

What could cause a skipped period while on birth control other than being pregnant? Could this be early menopause? I'm 19 and a newlywed (to a sailor in the Navy). I have heard of early menopause happening to women in their 20s, but I thought I was clear of that for a few more years.

Early menopause does NOT run in my family.

Any help at all to help me figure out what is wrong with me will be greatly appreciated. Smile
