Hi. My child suffers from asthma and I have noticed that smog is bothering him. Can smog affect asthma? I have quit smoking, but I can`t fight smog.

Hi. According to many studies, children living in high smog areas are more likely to get asthma if they take a part in some sport, because they have to breathe up to 17 times the normal amount of air. Smog can make the symptoms of asthma worse. Your child should avoid high smog areas. My child has asthma too and I always monitor smog and heat conditions. I have joined the smog alert network to be notified of poor air quality days. You can fight smog – drive less.
