Sore Throat Pain

Have a sore throat in the right side of my throat, seems to hurt mostly after a yawn followed by swallowing, then goes away. No fever. Went to regular group practice 2 days ago where a new young MD said my throat showed signs of chronic drainage. She changed my Allegra from 24 hour type to twice a day dosage. Can this pain be caused by allergy drainage. I have indeed had a chronic sinus drainage since early December. I see an allergist and take regular allergy shots. I switched to the Allegra in December which has helped some but hasn't completely stopped drainage. May be just a coinsidence, back in December when massaging my throat I felt something pop on the right side of my throat just about the same place it hurts.
