I have also had a sore throat down in the thyroid area of the neck. It has been going on for about a month and a half. Some days its worse than others but I also have sharp pains in that area as well. Any clues as to what it is. I too am waiting for my physician to come back from vacation.

Same problem here... Ive had a sore throat and an itchy ear for over a year. I saw an ear-throat-nose specialist and he treated me with antifungal and that solved my itchy ear. It got slightly better after I started going to karate. I would be dead otherwise. And today it got worse. I seriously think its the North American climate, so I figured, after I graduate, I'll run, RUN LIKE HELL from here.

I have a had a sore throat in my right side for about six months. It hurts terribly when I yawn or sneeze. I've been to two different doctors who both tell me it is allergy related, but it isn't going away. I have also been told it could be because of gerd, as I have bad acid reflux. I've asked them if I should get an endoscopy but both doctors keep telling me to give it time.

This all sounds very similiar to my symptoms. Have any of you had any mout sores on the inside of your lips or on your tongue. I seem to either have a mouth sore or the throat is infected. I have had the Mono and HIV testing as well. More than five months this has lasted and it started after a flue bout in the winter. You must all remember the one where it was back to back different types of flue symptoms. That was 5 weeks of completely brutal sickness. Now it is an annoying tenderness with slight infections in the sores everynow and then. Im from Canada and health costs are minimal so I will keep posting here and keep you updated.

I use to have a sore throat problem, it seemed like it lasted a whole year. I delt with it, sometimes it would get really bad and my throat would swell up and i would get scabs in the back of my thoat for a while then it would go away. Every time i went to the doctor they would did a lot of test and could never figure out what the real problem was. The medications they gave me would help but never got rid of the problem. Finally i got my tonsils out and that cured it for the longest time. Then i was working n getting black mold out of a house. We had to tear down the walls and ceilling panals. Even though i was wearing a mask and always kept the doors and windows open for ventalation i got really sick and got my first sore throat since my tonsilectomy. Since then my breathing problems have gotten a lot worse. The sore throat went away, stay away from black mold!

Had my sore throat for 7 weeks now, began with discomfort when swallowing feeling like a lump in my throat, but now it feels very sore and painful. My voice is horse and the soreness is worse if i talk alot. Been to the doctors 3 times, they say my throat looks ok and have just had a blood test for blood count, waiting for the results. Can't help but feel worried. Sad

Hope you guys get sorted.

I've had one for 7 months now myself. I've been tested for mono, strep, and hiv and came back negative on all of those. The doctor I went to recommended me to an ENT, but I can't go to the doctor anymore, because I don't have enough money and I don't have insurance. I think I perhaps might have figured out my dilema though. I was doin fine for a few months until I cleaned the inside of my ear out yesterday with a q-tip,(doctors told me not to do that). Now I wake up this morning with horrible pain. Next chance I get I'm cleaning it out with alchohol. Hopefully that will kill anything left.
