What are the symptoms of an enlarged spleen? I am suffering from back pain, left side. I was wondered if it associated with enlarged spleen. I'm wondering because I was diagnosed with mono about 6 months ago and I recently have been sick. I had cold like symptoms and have had upper left back pain. First I thought that is pulled muscle, because it felt like that, but I haven't done any strenuous activity.

Well, you can have pain from an enlarged spleen left upper, although if it's acute you have to watch out for spleen rupture. Spleen can get so enlarged it can tear and the spleen is a bleeder and you have to be careful of signs of internal bleeding. Symptoms of internal bleeding would be rapid heart rate, weakness. Anyway I think that you should see a doctor about this.
