Spotting 17 days after my last period

Ok my last period was on March 29. I always have regular periods. Im not on any birth control and I have never had spotting before. About 17 days after my last period I started spotting and it lasted over a week. I had intercourse the night before i started spotting. I didn't get my period and was wondering if its just stress or if i could be pregnant. I took a hpt the day I was supposed to start my period and it was negative but i still havn't started my period. Can somone please help? I would appreciate any advice.
