Hi all!

I've been on Yaz for 5 months now and have not had a problem whatsoever. This month however, I've had cramps and am experiencing a little bit of pink and brown mucousy spotting. Not a lot, but its been going on for the past 4 days.

I am having unprotected sex with my boyfriend but I have been taking my pill the same time everyday except for one day the first week (I took it 4 hours late).

The only other changes this month was that I started excercising a lot.
Could this have an effect on the spotting?

if not, what do you think is going on?

Thanks a lot!

Changes in diet or activity level can definitely affect a woman's cycle! Light brown/pink spotting around the time your period is due or a couple days before can be a symptom of pregnancy - implantation bleeding. implantation bleeding doesn't occur in all women. However, from what you said, it seems unlikely that pregnancy is the issue - as b.c pills are very effective when taken correctly. I would most likely attribute the spotting to your excercising, but if your period is late, you can take a home pregnancy test. Also, if more concerning symptoms appear I would suggest making a doctor appt. Best of luck!
