Spotting after having baby after period has returned

I recently had a baby at then end of October. I quit bleeding totally like after 6 weeks. My first period returned when the baby was around 8 weeks old. I bled for approx. 7 days. The bleeding completely quit, then a few days later I had light spotting. I only notice it a few times a day. Is this normal? Should I get it checked out?
