Stabbing pain in testicule

My husband has been having a sudden sharp stabbing pain in his right testicle that shoots up into his lower stomach. It only lasts for a few seconds but seems extremly painful. This happens at random and seems to be happening more frequently. He is only 27 and in general good health. Could someone please give me some ideas of what this could be from?

It would be best if he saw an urologist to see if there’s some kind of bacterial infection going on or if he has kidney stones!

Such strong pains are only brought by bacterial inflammation of the epididymis, a tube attached to the testicle. However, there are usually some other symptoms present like testicle swelling, lump in testicles, possible fever, maybe burning upon urination, etc

Kidney stones may grow big or get stuck on their way out from kidneys through the urethra. If they get stuck, they may hurt. Men usually feel pain in lower back, groins and possibly testicles.

Inguinal hernia may cause pain as well. I suppose he would notice a lump protruding somewhere in the groin area if hernia occurred.

All in all, stubbing pain is not normal and avoiding the problem will not solve it. Make him see a doc!
