Started and stopped birth control, questions about side effe

I started birth control on day one of my period and according to the instructions, starting withing 24 of your period provides immediate protection and you do not need to use backup. My period was regular, lasting 7 days and very light, brown on the last few days. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on the last day of myperiod where it was almost nonexistant. Right after, I noticed I was bleeding bright red. i assumed that it might have been a little to rough or maybe i was too dry. the next morning, i had stopped bleeding but I had brown dishcharge. This continued for the next week . I became concerned because it would not stop and also other side effects such as extreme moodiness, bloating, sore breasts, fatigue, nausea, etc. led me to just stop the birth control mid pack because i coudlnt take it anymore. I stopped after taking 8 pills. I continued brown discharge and today it is starting to look like it might be another period. Is this normal? I read after stopping that the brown discharge is normal but is it normal to get a second period in the same month? im a little concerned. please advise.

That is normal, and a reason why it is not a good idea to stop mid pack.
