Started birth control pills for the first time and period stopped abruptly

I started my period on sunday and took the birth control pill for the first time as instructed by my doctor, but today (monday) my period stopped. Previously me and my boyfriend have had sex using a condom. About roughly 2 and a half weeks ago we were having sex and the condom broke but he pulled out as soon as we realized. Can I be pregnant? I used a pregnancy test on saturday (the day before my period started) and it was negetive. I'm not sure if I'm pregnant or just having some difficulties with the pill...Does anyone know? Thanks....HELP!
