Hi everyone,

I am glad that everyone is still doing their part to try to help our group. I have recently been to my second dermatologist, and andreaed, he is VERY stubborn and i believe somewhat arrogant as well. I live in Canada, and he seems very convinced that no such treatments exist, or any existing treatments are very risky and will guarantee scarring that is worse than the steatocystoma multiplex problem.

I am still doing my part to research about the Vein Hook methods, but andreaed, I am interested in what you had to say about the doctor in Boston who is interested in helping us out, Dr. Rox Anderson. I have not heard of him, but do you know where I too can email him, and if i get any more information, since I am closer to Boston than you are, I will get back to everyone about it.

Thanks a lot

Hi MedSeeker. Gosh what are they like these stubborn dermatologists. They just don't realise the psychological impact of this condition. The E:Mail address for Rox Anderson is ****. I have just mailed him now to thank him for his response and explain I'm very encouraged that he has treated SM before with good results and using two different methods. I'm sure his compassionate rates would apply to you too if you ask. I really need to win the Lottery badly! The first thing I would do is get on a plane to see Rox Anderson!! Good luck.

Hey andreaed,

I was just wondering how long it took for Dr. Anderson to respond to you? I was searching on the internet, and emailed him at a different email address before I was able to review your response with the "bdammin" email address...so perhaps he doesnt even respond to his personal address (the "rranderson" one)? Maybe I will try the email address you mentioned if he still doesn't respond within the next week or so.

Will keep you guys posted.

Hi Jenny

I am in London UK, not far from Swindon.

I have had Chinese Herbal Medicine and acupuncture treatment.

Not too successful but the Doctor did manage to take some of the cysts out. There is no scarring but as I am Asian and have darker skin pigments therefore there is some un even skin tone left. (Where the cysts where the skin appear to be a little darker than the rest)

If you found anything helpful, please reply to me here

Hi Medseeker. Just wondered if you'd heard anything from Rox Anderson? He took a while to reply to me and I e:mailed a couple of times but he apologised saying he had been on holiday. I e;mailed the RR Anderson address. I think the bdadmin one was to arrange treatment but I am unable to travel to the States on the separate occasions one month apart. I only wish I could. He has suggested someone in Germany who might be able to perform the same treatment so I need to look into that as that is less than a 2 hour flight away. I've just come back from Spain on holiday. A bit traumatic getting the old bod out on the beach but it had to be done!

Hi people, I'm from Singapore.. just happened to stumble across this forum. Used to discuss this in Healthforum with people like Wingster and Andreaed, but the site just died so suddenly..

Anyway, I have something to share here, hope it might be helpful.. Have any of you heard of Lac-Hydrin? Its a prescription medicine that contains 12% lactic acid and its for external application.. I understand that SM is very closely related to another condition named Eruptive Vellus Hair Cysts.. people claim that SM is a variant of that..

So, while searching for information regarding EVHC, I came across an eMedicine website and their findings stated that patients showed significant improvement while using Lac-Hydrin on affected areas. When i looked at the photos of EHVC, it really looks just like SM.. it is so alike, so let us be hopeful.. =)

By the way, I have already ordered the Lac-hydrin from my local pharmacy.. will report back with the results.. let us pray for all of us.. =)

hey Eddiee, i'm also from singapore.

I've been suffering from SM since after puberty and have been wrongly diagnosed several times (of ezcema, heat rash etc) before being correctly diagnosed.

Regarding the cream Lac-hydrin, is it possible to buy it from over the counter pharmacy or must it be doctor-prescibed?

Hey Andreaed,

Sorry for the delayed response - I have been busy with personal matters.

I did get the chance to email Rox Anderson, but I emailed him at the badmin website. I got a reply from one of his assistants, but it was blunt and it was obvious that they were not going to help. The reply was basically "Dr Anderson would need to see you in person for anything to happen"...a very ambiguous reply considering the information and questions I emailed them with.

I sent out a second email for clarification and further questions, but I have given up on expecting a response. I don't know - I will let you know if they respond again, but it has been at least a couple months now...

Perhaps in the future I will try emailing him again, but at the moment I am working on some other possible leads...

Sorry again for the late response Andread, I"ll keep you posted on any further findings, as I am still searching for the answer. Let me know if you have better luck with Anderson or even the specialist in Germany!
