almond cream allergy

Last week I had very unpleasant experience. I went to the beach with my girlfriend. It was great and we had a time to remember. But it was very hot and we decided to go for an ice cream. I had taken the almond ice cream. Few hours later I start to feel funny, my breathing was very heavy. I went to doctor immediately. He told me that I have almond cream allergy. Is it possible?
