When I was 12 years old I began to experience stomach pains, diarrhea, loss of appetite, fatigue, headaches and many other symptoms that were never explained. I had everything done from a colonoscopy to MRIs and ultrasounds. There were many possible causes. Doctors at first thought cancer could be the cause due to my heighten white blood cell count or abdominal migraines, mercury poisoning, food allergies, kidney infections but nothing was ever for sure. After months of hospital visits and test, I decided not to continue. I wanted to go back to school and be a normal child, even if it meant sitting in the back of the class to sneak out and use the bathroom.

I am not 19 and many of my symptoms have returned although I have not seen a doctor about them. It started with sensitivity to food, stomach pain, frequent bowel movements (5+ times a day) especially after eating, constant fatigue. I lost much of my appetite and often I am too afraid to eat because it only gets worse. Recently I developed extreme back pain in the lower left side along with the stomach pain. I've lost weight but I'm more nervous of never knowing what does this to me. You can't help but read articles and watch television shows and wonder if that is what is wrong with me. I know I don't want to live the rest of my life like this. I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced these kind of symptoms or has any advice. I'd appreciate it.
