Stopped birth control pills and had a period that is 9 days and still going.

Hello everyone I first want to thank anyone who might possible have a answer to my question.
Ok I recently got married and I stopped taking the pill on January 29, 2007 and I started my period on the February 1 as I should have. Usually my periods are around 5 days and now its been 8 and there's no sign of it letting up anytime soon. I was diagnozed 3 years ago with endometriosis and was put on the pill to help the pain. It seemed to work well however I gained alot of weight...that is the reason that I stopped taking them I'm trying to loss weight. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has endometriosis and is managing it with the pill and they haven't had any problems with weight gain if they could please tell me the names of them. hi, i dont have endometriosis but i talked to my doctor a while back about birth control pills and she said that if i take it, then i should continue taking it but i never started. She also warned me that if i stopped taking it, then the next couple of times my period comes, it will be extremely heavy so i think you're just experiencing the after effects of birth control. hope this helps!
