Strange tissues from inside opening of vagina

I was going through the normal cleaning of my netherbits when I noticed an odd texture on the right side of my vaginal opening. The inner vaginal skin(?) felt a bit painful and wasn't fully connected. A piece of it actually came off in my fingers fairly easily. I started bleeding, not too heavily, but enough to warrant some worry. The piece of skin/tissue was white-ish and seems to be rounded beads of tissue held together fairly loosely. What is going on? I don't know what it is and I haven't found anything like this on the internet. I'm not experiencing any strange or abnormal discharge, no swelling, just this (which is now painful since it was like tearing off a piece of skin).
