Hi! Tachycardia can be caused by exercise or stress. This fast heart rate usually returns to normal range with rest and relaxation.
Dehydration also can cause tachycardia, when the dehydration is treated, the heart rate usually returns to normal. Heavy smoking, alcohol, or too much caffeine or other stimulants, such as diet pills, also can be cause of tachycardia. Heart disease or other medical conditions may sometimes cause a fast heart rate. See your doctor if you have a sudden change in your usual heart rate or rhythm, you should know that it could be serious.

|

| I get a fast heart beat when I'm sleeping. I get it when I haven't drank alot. So, I start drinking ALOT of liquids and it slows it down. If I don't drink enough before I go to sleep, I'll wake up again with it racing. I'll repeatedly wake up all night for several nights until I've drank enough water. I wish I didn't pee it out so fast. |
