My husband was diagnosed prostate cancer. It has to be treated by proton beam. I’m not sure if it is a type of alternative therapy. Does that mean that his cancer is not that serious? Can proton beam therapy replace traditional sutgert? I’m interested in your opinion surgert vs. proton beam. Thanks in advance.

It was discovered that proton beam therapy can treat prostate cancer more successfully that traditional therapies like surgery, chemo and common radiation. It is non- invasive way of treatment with fewer side effects.
It is not an alternative way of treatment of cancer, but approved and performed in USA by professional surgicals.
It is very precise technique, proton beam is delivered directly to the cancer site and surrounding tissue is not being damaged.
